Role Description The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will provide outpatient psychiatric evaluation and ongoing medication management for adult patients, including young adults, in a compassionate, patient-centered setting. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments, developing and adjusting treatment plans, prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications, and providing psychoeducation on diagnoses, treatment options, and lifestyle factors that support mental wellness. The practitioner will collaborate closely with other providers to ensure holistic care, maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record, and participate in coordination of care with primary care and other behavioral health professionals as needed.

This is a part-time, hybrid role based in Mount Laurel, NJ, with a mix of in-person appointments and work-from-home telehealth visits to support flexible, accessible care for patients.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Mental Health Nursing, with experience in therapeutic communication, crisis assessment, and patient education.
• Candidates should be qualified Nurse Practitioners with current or eligible New Jersey APRN licensure and PMHNP-BC (Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Board Certification) preferred.
• Candidates should have a solid foundation in Mental Health Care, including assessment, diagnosis of common psychiatric conditions, and evidence-based treatment planning.
• Candidates should demonstrate expertise in Psychiatric Care, including psychopharmacology, risk assessment, and ongoing monitoring of treatment efficacy and safety.
• Candidates should have a background in Nursing that reflects sound clinical judgment, interdisciplinary collaboration, and adherence to ethical and professional standards.
• Experience with telehealth service delivery, electronic health records, and documentation that meets regulatory and payer requirements is highly beneficial.
• Strong interpersonal skills, cultural humility, and the ability to build trusting therapeutic relationships with diverse adult populations are essential.
• Master’s degree in Nursing with a psychiatric focus, current DEA registration or eligibility, and prior outpatient psychiatric or integrated care experience are preferred.
