About Frida
Frida is Canada's largest online clinic for adult ADHD. ADHD is one of the most treatable conditions in medicine and one of the worst-served. Adults can wait 12 months for an assessment in the public system and many never get treatment. We assess, diagnose and treat adults who've spent years on waitlists or being told their symptoms aren't real and we do it in weeks, not years.
Whowe hope to find
We are looking for caring and compassionate Nurse Practitioners to provide high-quality virtual mental health care services to Frida patients. Our patients are our #1 priority–we’re committed to providing empathetic, stigma-free care that goes beyond traditional clinical experiences.
In this role, you will provide thorough assessment and treatment of adults with ADHD, along with supporting patients experiencing depression, anxiety, and other comorbidities. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, technical proficiency, and a commitment to reducing health disparities within diverse populations.
Why work with Frida? At Frida, you’ll deepen your expertise in ADHD care while focusing on thorough assessments and treatment decisions. Our shared-care model means an experienced RN team supports patients through much of their ongoing care, with clear handoffs between clinicians.
Working remotely doesn’t mean working alone. You’ll receive one-on-one training in our ADHD care model and have a community of clinical leads and peers to connect with and learn from. Patient feedback and clinical reviews give you insight into the impact of your care and support your growth in practice.
In this role, you’ll make an impact by:
- Delivering inclusive, high-quality virtual care through Frida’s platform.
- Conducting initial ADHD assessments, making diagnosis and treatment decisions, prescribing medications where appropriate, and developing personalized care plans.
- Documenting assessments and decisions clearly in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to support ongoing care by the RN team.
- Using independent clinical judgement and consulting a clinical lead or colleague when needed.
- Responding to patient requests within our service expectations and helping improve patient care and service delivery.
- A Master's degree in Nursing and a Primary Health Care or Adult/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner diploma
- Active Nurse Practitioner registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (additional provincial registration is a plus)
- 1+ years of mental health experience as a Nurse Practitioner within the last 5 years, or 2+ years of Registered Nurse experience in mental health
- Strong communication skills, empathetic care delivery, and a non-judgmental approach
- Experience working in an independent or autonomous practice setting
- The ability to adapt to new systems and programs
- Experience using a digital EMR and team based messaging applications
- Specific experience assessing or treating adults with ADHD
- Active NP registration in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan or Nova Scotia, in addition to Ontario
- Experience working with marginalised and vulnerable populations, including gender and sexually diverse communities
- Experience providing virtual care
- $90 CAD/hour as an independent contractor
- Reimbursement of additional provincial registration fees if your role requires you to provide care in another province
- Independent contractors provide their own equipment, including a laptop
