Position: Director of Nursing Outcomes (NCLEX)

To participate in a remote work arrangement, employees must reside in the United States. No remote work arrangement will be considered for working from outside the United States.

The Director of Nursing Outcomes (NCLEX) provides centralized, university-wide leadership for NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN readiness across all Herzing University prelicensure nursing locations. This position designs, standardizes, and oversees a coordinated NCLEX readiness process, working across locations to strengthen predictive analytics use, remediation practices, and licensure outcome data so that programs consistently meet or exceed state board and accreditation expectations.

The Director of Nursing Student Outcomes provides system-wide strategy, data oversight, consistency, and support so that every location benefits from a common, evidence-based approach to NCLEX readiness. This role requires availability across time zones to coordinate with campus teams and attend virtual meetings.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required. Doctoral degree (DNP or PhD) preferred.
Licensure
  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
Experience
  • A minimum of three to five years of experience directly supporting or achieving NCLEX outcomes at the prelicensure nursing level within a college or university setting.
  • Demonstrated track record of improving or sustaining strong NCLEX pass rates, including experience with predictive analytics (data), remediation program design, and outcomes reporting.
  • Experience teaching in a prelicensure nursing program (ADN or BSN).
  • Experience working across multiple campuses, sites, or a multi-location academic system preferred.
  • Familiarity with nursing accreditation standards (ACEN or CCNE) and state board of nursing reporting requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES: NCLEX Readiness Strategy and Standardization
  • Develop and maintain a centralized, evidence-based NCLEX readiness framework applied consistently across all Herzing prelicensure nursing locations.
  • Standardize the use of predictive analytics, benchmark exams, and remediation protocols across location.
  • Partner with campus nursing directors, program chairs, and faculty to align curriculum, testing cadence, and remediation practices with the centralized framework.
  • Establish and monitor readiness benchmarks and early-warning indicators for students and cohorts at risk of not meeting licensure readiness standards.
Data Oversight and Outcomes Reporting
  • Own the centralized collection, validation, and analysis of NCLEX pass rate data, predictive exam analytics, and related program outcome metrics across all locations.
  • In partnership with Business Intelligence, build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools that give location and university leadership visibility into readiness trends by location, cohort, and program.
  • Provide regular outcome reports and trend analysis to the Dean of Prelicensure Nursing, identifying risks, drivers of performance, and recommended actions.
  • Support preparation of NCLEX outcome data for state board of nursing submissions and specialized nursing accreditation (for example, ACEN or CCNE) reporting.
Location Coordination and Support
  • Serve as the central point of coordination for location-based NCLEX success coaches, testing coordinators, or comparable roles, ensuring consistent practice and shared best practices across the university.
  • Facilitate regular location meetings and communities of practice focused on NCLEX readiness and student success strategies.
  • Provide direct consultation to location leadership on remediation planning for at-risk students, cohorts, or programs.
  • Support onboarding and ongoing professional development of location-level NCLEX readiness staff and faculty.
Continuous Improvement and Governance
  • Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives related to licensure outcomes, incorporating findings into the centralized readiness framework.
  • Monitor NCLEX test plan changes and emerging best practices in test-taking strategy, clinical judgment preparation, and readiness assessment, and translate these into updated guidance for campuses.
  • Escalate systemic risks to licensure outcomes to the Dean of Prelicensure Nursing and, where appropriate, the AI Governance Committee or other institutional governance bodies for review.
  • Represent Herzing University in relevant professional organizations and nursing education forums related to NCLEX success and student outcomes.
