Remote Northern Community Health Nurse

Remote northern assignments need registered nurses skilled in primary, emergency, and community health care across Canada’s isolated communities. Serve residents from newborns through elders.

Bayshore Health Care offers two-to-six-week assignments through its Northern Staffing Program. This Community Health Nurse role includes expanded practice, care planning, health promotion, immunizations, and communicable disease control. Nurses work through nursing stations or health centers in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, or Nunavut.

• Provide primary and emergency care to community residents
• Perform observation, assessment, diagnosis, counseling, and health teaching
• Plan and implement care using clinical practice guidelines
• Create care plans and support immunization activities
• Protect clients’ emotional, spiritual, physical comfort and safety

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
• Hold a nursing license in good standing
• Obtain licenses for selected provinces or territories
• Complete required experience within the stated periods
• Hold a bachelor’s degree or better
