Looking for a nursing opportunity that offers independence, flexibility, and meaningful work?
At Mountain Valley Hospice, our after-hours nurses provide compassionate care and reassurance to patients and families when they need it most. Unlike traditional night shift positions,
our after-hours RNs are primarily on-call from home
, responding to patient needs and making visits when necessary.
You'll have the independence to work from home between patient care needs while remaining available to provide hands-on nursing care throughout your assigned service area.
- Monday-Thursday: 5 PM-8 AM

What You'll Do
- Respond to after-hours patient and family calls.
- Assess patient needs and provide nursing guidance and support.
- Make in-home patient visits when clinical needs require hands-on care.
- Collaborate with the hospice care team to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide comfort, symptom management, and compassionate support to patients and families.
What We're Looking For
- Current RN license.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and respond to changing patient needs.
- Hospice, home health, or related nursing experience preferred.
- Ability to remain within the assigned service area during scheduled on-call hours and travel to patients' homes when needed.
Sometimes the greatest comfort a family can receive is knowing a compassionate, experienced nurse is just a phone call away.
