The Work Planner provides notifications and obtains verbal or written permissions from property owners, municipalities, and/or businesses for compliance with large scale utility vegetation management projects. Salary for this position is $20 - $23/hour depending on experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Provides and documents property owner/representative notifications about upcoming vegetation clearing projects via mail and in person attempts.
  • Obtains and documents permission for crews to gain access and complete work when required on a per site or project basis.
  • Communicates directly with project and divisional supervisors, any requests or refusals that may limit the crew’s ability to complete a job to the required specifications set by our customers.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of all records and report requests related to permission/notification projects assigned to them.
  • 95% year round travel with limited home office work required. Including daily/weekly hotel stays depending on location of project (project locations vary throughout the year).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to complete projects start to finish with minimal oversight.
  • Experience in customer service settings with skills in conflict de-escalation.
  • Experience with or willing to learn how to interpret drawings, environmental engineering plans, construction plans and/or utility circuit maps.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and mapping apps.
  • Willingness to learn or improve upon your knowledge of tree identification and other aspects of Arboriculture.
Education and Experience:
  • Environmental Studies degree or Arborist certifications preferred but not required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times per day.
  • May work on rough terrain due to nature of responsibilities.
  • Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work tasks such as rain, heat, sun, cold, snow.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods for commute to projects in company vehicle.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
