How You’ll Make an Impact

Enjoy working in the outdoors? Interested in learning more about California native and non‑native plants? Join the Habitat Restoration Sciences team! This temporary, variable‑hour position is supervised by a Crew Leader or Foreman and involves vegetation management, weed removal, installing and maintaining plants, and installing and repairing irrigation systems.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work closely with supervisor in installation of construction and landscape construction projects
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools
  • Maintain and care for company equipment, tools and vehicles
  • Perform highly physical installation work on a consistent basis
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site
  • Work as part of a team and take direction
  • Follow all safety procedures on project site
  • Always represent the company’s best interest, maintain the highest level of integrity
  • Keep accurate timesheet records, submitted for review and signoff by the required deadlines
  • Complete project daily reports if needed
  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned/instructed by supervisor
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in landscape industry
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean DMV record
  • Ability to travel out of town/overnight
  • Highly motivated, self‑driven, detail oriented
  • Great time management skills; available for seasonal long hours and weekends
  • Punctual and dependable
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals of differing backgrounds, knowledge and skill levels
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by first day of employment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands‑on experience with irrigation system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Direct experience in habitat restoration, including planting, invasive species removal, and ecosystem management
  • Experience in the safe handling and application of pesticides, including compliance with local and federal regulations
  • Comfort working in outdoor, variable conditions and performing physically demanding tasks
  • Proven ability to work effectively in field teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
Compensation Details
  • * Final agreed‑upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location. Successful candidates must pass a pre‑employment drug test and background check prior to beginning employment.
Working Conditions / Environment
  • This job operates in an outdoor‑based environment.
  • Outdoor activity involves walking/trekking in uneven terrain over long distances in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time.
  • This job requires project site visits, based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, and moving vehicles and equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Working on a computer, sitting, or standing for long periods of time in a field, office, or remote office setting.
