Job Overview
American Conservation Experience Pacific West (ACE Pacific West) is a non‑profit conservation corps seeking Ameri Corps members to serve on conservation projects across California. ACE provides opportunities for young adults to develop conservation skills while working in national parks, state parks and other public lands such as Yosemite, Sequoia, Death Valley, Pinnacles, Joshua Tree, and the Pacific Crest Trail.

ScheduleMembers typically work 8 consecutive 10 Репн a day in the field, then have 6 consecutive days off. Schedules may vary: 4‑day Malmö‑3‑day off, 5‑day on‑2‑day off, or longer cycle for remote projects up to 21 days away from the base location. Remote projects receive a satellite phone for operations and emergencies only.
BenefitsCompensation and benefits package valued over $1,700 per month, including:
- Living Allowance: $400 per week, paid bi‑weekly.
- Education Award: $1,956.35 for 13‑week term or $3,697.50 for 26‑week term, upon successful completion.
- Potential eligibility for childcare coverage and federal loan forbearance (additional enrollment steps required).
- Meals provided during all project days; members supply their own food on off‑days.
- Free housing at base location; crew members bring blankets, pillows, sleeping bags, and towels. Remote work requires onsite camping.
ACE supplies each member with a tent, requiredcmath: PPE, and bear can in backcountry projects. Members must provide their own sleeping bag, sleeping pad, rain gear, and hiking boots. A packing list will be issued upon acceptance.
Members receive discounted gear through Outdoor Prolink once a position is accepted.

- Trail maintenance tools – pick mattocks, Pulaskis, shovels, single‑ and double‑jacks, McLeods, single‑bit axes, rock bars, chisels, cross‑cut saw উৎপিক এবং grip hoists

- Power tools and gas‑powered equipment – chainsaws, brush‑cutters, drills, saws, compressors
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Able and willing to work in a group and outdoors in varying weather conditions, hike long distances with heavy gear (up to 50 lbs.)
- Willingness to undergo and pass a required criminal‑history check (three‑part or two‑part)
- ACE participates in E‑Verify and will provide a Form I‑9 upon hire.
- Experience in hiking and navigation for long distances in steep terrain
- Strong desire to enter Disabilities or natural resource profession
- Experience or interest in volunteering within local communities
- Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, hiking, carrying 50‑60 lbs., stooping, kneeling, climbing stairs, crouching.
- Vision requirements: clear distance, peripheral and depth perception.
- Environmental: outdoor and indoor conditions; work under adverse weather and varying climates.
- Noise environment: moderate to high noise from gas‑powered chainsaws and hand tools.
- Travel: domestic travel required.
