Wiltshire Wildlife Trust is looking for an ambitious, collaborative and inspiring leader to drive our pioneering programme of farmer‑led landscape‑scale nature recovery.

Working alongside the Director of Nature Recovery, this is a rare opportunity to lead one of the UK's most exciting farming and nature recovery portfolios. You’ll work with farmers, land managers, partners and communities, to create a future where productive farming, thriving nature and resilient rural businesses go hand in hand.

At the heart of the role is Great Chalfield, our flagship Learning Hub for nature‑friendly farming, nature‑based solutions and green finance. You'll help establish Great Chalfield as a nationally recognised centre of excellence, developing innovative farming approaches and professional training programmes that equip the next generation of trusted advisers and influence policy and practice across the UK.

Beyond Great Chalfield, you'll lead an ambitious portfolio of farmer‑led initiatives, from Chalkland Revival, bringing together five neighbouring farmer clusters across more than 40,000 hectares of the North Wessex Downs, to Western Forest, England's first new national forest in over 30 years, and Project Peewit, helping reverse the decline of breeding lapwing through farmer‑led conservation. Together, these programmes put collaboration at the heart of landscape‑scale nature recovery.

Leading a talented multidisciplinary team of ecologists, ornithologists and advisers, you'll work in close partnership with the Director of Nature Recovery to shape the future of farmer‑led nature recovery at Wiltshire Wildlife Trust. As part of an ambitious Nature Recovery Leadership Team, you'll collaborate with the Head of Nature Markets and Head of Freshwater to grow our impact, develop new opportunities and build partnerships that shape the future of nature recovery.

You'll be a strategic and collaborative leader with credibility in farming, land management or conservation, and a passion for bringing people together to deliver lasting change. Whether your background is in farming, conservation or a related field, you'll be excited by innovation, collaboration and the opportunity to shape approaches that could influence nature recovery across the UK.

From developing the next generation of trusted advisers to supporting farmers to lead landscape‑scale recovery, this is an opportunity to build something with national significance.
