Paid role for DVM students
City Vet is currently accepting applications for Student Ambassadors for the upcoming academic year. This paid opportunity is designed for veterinary students who enjoy connecting with their peers, supporting campus engagement, and exploring career pathways within veterinary medicine.
City Vet Ambassadors play a key role in strengthening relationships between their veterinary school and City Vet while gaining valuable professional experience and mentorship.
Program OverviewCity Vet Student Ambassadors serve as on-campus representatives who help share information about externships, career opportunities, and student events. Ambassadors work closely with the City Vet Campus Recruitment team to support meaningful engagement throughout the academic year.
- Program term: Fall semester through spring semester
- Compensation: Annual competitive stipend, paid in the fall and spring
- Time commitment: Flexible and designed to work alongside academic schedules
Ambassadors act as a liaison between City Vet and their veterinary school.
Responsibilities include:
- Serving as the primary point of contact between City Vet and campus organizations
- Sharing information about City Vet externships, career opportunities, and events with students
- Assisting with the planning and promotion of campus engagements such as lunch and learns, networking events, career fairs, and student organization events
- Supporting event logistics including space reservations, promotion, and day-of coordination
- Participating in monthly virtual Ambassador meetings with City Vet doctors and Campus Recruitment team members
- Providing feedback on student interests, campus culture, and upcoming opportunities
City Vet covers all approved event-related expenses. Ambassadors are never expected to cover costs out of pocket.
What Ambassadors GainThis role offers practical experience and early career exposure, including:
- Leadership experience specific to veterinary education and recruitment
- Direct interaction with practicing veterinarians and clinical leaders
- Insight into externships, mentorship models, contracts, and practice ownership
- Networking with fellow veterinary students across multiple schools
- Resume-building experience relevant to externships and new graduate roles

Each clinic is locally led by a veterinarian and supported by a centralized home office team so doctors can focus on patient care and professional growth.

- Current DVM students enrolled at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school

Previous ambassador experience is not required.
