Founded in 1989, Glendale has had a long and successful history in providing grounds maintenance services to local authorities and other private sector customers. Glendale is proud of its reputation as a high quality service provider and in addition to grounds maintenance, delivers a wide range of green services including countryside and estate management, landscaping, tree services and arboriculture.

Revenues of around £50 million are expected in 2023. Public sector contracts remain the core business, whilst the corporate sector business amounts to an increasing percentage of Glendale’s total business and a strategic focus. The Glendale brand is strong and the majority of the company’s revenues are generated from grounds management and countryside activities that operate term contracts with public sector clients.

The current business strategy includes an objective to grow the order book to £250 million.

Contract Details

Glendale has been delivering commercial grounds maintenance services from our Radlett office for over 7 years with a growing portfolio of clients.

Branding as a GEM contract (Glendale Estates Management) Glendale established our GEM brand to support our entry into the corporate maintenance sector. Now with c12 established GEM offices, we are able to offer a national service to clients, supported by locally awarded bolt on contracts to offer scale, additional services and greater flexibility to our clients.

Operating to a hybrid model of depot, site and remote working teams, our services from this office cover North London, Essex, Hertfordshire, Beds and Bucks.

Clients bridge a number of sectors from, retail, offices, pubs, hotels and schools to prestige housing, parkland and estates. A diverse portfolio of clients to differing specifications and requiring a flexible approach to service delivery using a team of multi-skilled professionals.

Services include complete landscape maintenance including grounds maintenance, grass cutting, horticultural services, cleansing, winter maintenance, consultancy services including tree safety, landscape improvements and habitat creation.

Employing 16 staff, based throughout the territory corporate clients include Barrett Homes, Marstons, Whitbread, Matalan, the Co-operative, Firstport, Veolia, Affinity Water, City University,

Subcontractors are engaged to provide specialist services, assets or in geographically isolated areas, however Glendale primarily works with a direct employee model, offering the greatest flexibility, best control of quality, customer service and safety.

Combined sales in 2026 are expected to be in the region of £5m
