The Salon Leader role at Pet Smart in Middletown, DE is a full-time, on-site position responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations in the grooming salon. This role includes leading and coaching salon associates, managing schedules, and ensuring high-quality grooming services and safe handling of pets. The Salon Leader supports customer service by engaging with pet parents, addressing concerns, and maintaining salon cleanliness and organization.

This position also focuses on meeting performance goals, managing inventory and supplies, and supporting training and development of grooming staff. Collaboration with store leadership to align salon initiatives with overall store objectives is an important part of the role.

• Experience leading teams in a retail, service, or pet care environment, with strong people management and coaching skills.
• Knowledge of pet grooming services, pet safety, and handling practices; prior grooming or salon experience is highly beneficial.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with pet parents and associates.
• Basic operational and organizational skills, including scheduling, inventory management, and attention to salon cleanliness and safety standards.
• Ability to work on-site in Middletown, DE on a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in pet grooming or leadership is a plus.
