Purpose of the Assignment

Support the Health Programme Team in developing and implementing a Knowledge Management strategy aligned with the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan to strengthen UNICEF health workforce knowledge across Centers of Excellence and country offices.

Scope of Work & Responsibilities
  • Implement and manage the corporate Document Management System.
  • Configure and maintain SharePoint communication and collaboration sites.
  • Build and maintain a central knowledge base for technical papers, research, evaluations, and publications.
  • Develop an e‑learning resource database.
  • Lead Yammer as an internal knowledge‑sharing platform.
  • Produce periodic health programme newsletters.
  • Provide quarterly updates to DGCA on changes to Health content on unicef.org.
  • Support development and management of external communication portals including Knowledge@UNICEF.
  • Coordinate health reporting for the 2021–2025 Strategic Plan.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer from HQ Health to the new CoE structure.
  • Supervised by the Senior Advisor in the Office of the Director, PG‑Health.
Key Deliverables (with Timeline)
  • Health Knowledge Management Strategy – draft by 16 Jan 2026, final presentation by 28 Feb 2026.
  • External Health Newsletters – 6 newsletters published by 28 Feb 2026.
  • Internal Health Newsletters – 5 newsletters by 31 Mar 2026.
  • Health KM KPIs – 4 KPIs published by 30 Apr 2026.
  • Health SharePoint pages and databases: 12 maintenance reports completed by 31 Dec 2026.
  • unicef.org Health Programme pages – at least one annual and four ad‑hoc updates by 31 Dec 2026.
  • Knowledge@UNICEF platform – 5 products published once platform launched by 31 Dec 2026.
  • Internal workshops and troubleshooting: 2 workshops and 10 requests completed by 31 Mar 2026.
  • SharePoint space for GARR and RAM inputs – organized by 31 May 2026.
  • Documentation of major Health events – summaries of 4 events by 31 Dec 2026.
  • Reorganisation of Health Office of Director SharePoint spaces – updates by 28 Feb 2026.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Communications, journalism, social sciences, public health, international development or related degree.
  • Min. two years of experience in knowledge management, including use of KM platforms and development of KM guidelines.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with a track record in writing/e‑editing for knowledge platforms.
  • Experience with UNICEF’s internal applications (Drupal, SharePoint) is an asset.
  • Digital literacy – familiarity with Power BI, Microsoft 365, Yammer, Teams, and other KM resources.
  • Knowledge of an official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) or local language is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience in multicultural settings.
  • Commitment to UNICEF’s mission and core values.
