HSE Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated HSE Officer to join their team in a fully remote capacity, supporting their operations across various locations. You will be responsible for ensuring that all activities within the oil and gas sector comply with stringent Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations. This role requires a proactive approach to risk management, incident prevention, and the promotion of a strong safety culture through remote monitoring, training, and policy development.

• Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
• Conduct remote risk assessments and safety audits for various operational sites and activities.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, performing root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions.
• Organize and deliver HSE training programs and awareness campaigns to employees.
• Maintain HSE records and prepare regular performance reports for management.
• Advise operational teams on HSE matters and best practices.

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an HSE Officer or similar role in the oil and gas industry .
• In-depth knowledge of South African HSE legislation and relevant industry standards.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment techniques and incident investigation methodologies.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage responsibilities effectively remotely.
