About the Role
Our client is looking for an innovative Formulation Scientist to join their dynamic research and development team in Mossel Bay . This hybrid role involves hands-on laboratory work and remote collaboration to develop stable, effective, and manufacturable dosage forms for pharmaceutical products. You will be responsible for designing formulations, conducting pre-formulation studies, and optimizing drug delivery systems. The ideal candidate is passionate about pharmaceutical science, possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and thrives in both collaborative lab settings and independent remote work environments.
This position is key to transforming drug candidates into viable medicinal products.
- Design and develop novel oral and parenteral dosage forms for various therapeutic areas.
- Conduct pre-formulation studies, including solubility, stability, and compatibility assessments.
- Optimize formulations for manufacturability, bioavailability, and stability.
- Utilize various analytical techniques to characterize drug products and excipients.
- Prepare detailed development reports, protocols, and summaries for regulatory submissions.
- Collaborate with analytical development, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs teams.
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development .
- Hands-on experience with formulation techniques and characterization of various dosage forms (tablets, capsules, injectables).
- Proficiency in analytical methods relevant to drug product characterization .
- Experience with GxP environments and regulatory requirements is essential.
- Strong understanding of material science and drug delivery principles.
