Remote Sanitation Specialist - Industrial Hygiene

Our client is seeking a highly knowledgeable and dedicated Remote Sanitation Specialist with a strong background in Industrial Hygiene to join their expanding operations team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from any location within South Africa. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive sanitation and hygiene programs across various industrial and commercial facilities.

Your expertise will be critical in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, minimizing risks, and promoting a culture of cleanliness and well-being. This role requires a proactive approach, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage projects and provide guidance virtually. • Develop and implement robust sanitation and industrial hygiene protocols for diverse client sites.
• Conduct remote risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential health hazards related to sanitation and hygiene.
• Stay abreast of all relevant local and international health, safety, and sanitation regulations and standards.
• Provide expert guidance and support to site-based operational teams on best practices in cleaning, disinfection, and waste management.
• Develop training materials and conduct virtual training sessions for staff on sanitation procedures and hygiene standards.
• Analyze sanitation data, prepare reports, and recommend improvements to current programs.
• Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure sanitation programs meet specific needs and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the selection and use of appropriate cleaning agents, disinfectants, and equipment.
• Investigate and report on sanitation-related incidents or concerns, recommending corrective actions.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the company's sanitation and hygiene service offerings.

• A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Microbiology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in sanitation management, industrial hygiene, or a related role, preferably with exposure to multiple industries.
• Strong understanding of microbial control, cleaning agents, disinfection techniques, and waste management principles.
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and standards (e.g., OHS Act, SANS).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
• Proficiency in using digital collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom, project management software).
• Experience in developing and delivering training programs.
• Must have a reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office space.
