Electrical Inspector - Product Certification, Remote Full-Time, New York state (Central & Western) and surrounding area
Intertek, a nationally recognized testing lab and leading provider of ATIC (Assurance, Testing, Inspection, and Certification) services, is actively seeking an Electrical Inspector located in New York state (Central & Western) who will work remotely and travel up to 75% to perform on‑site electrical inspections for product certifications at client sites.
Remote work: Applicants must reside in the United States and be legally authorized to work here. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

What you'll do:- Plan and conduct surveillance inspections according to scheduling requirements.
- Document manufacturer’s production and quality processes; review required production tests, including methods, equipment, and calibration.
- Inspect ETL‑Listed products, subassemblies, and components in relation to certification documents; review ETL label inventory, non‑compliances, and document unresolved issues.
- Document compliance and non‑compliance found during inspections and advise clients on proper resolution.
- Submit Follow‑up Service Inspection Reports for each client.
- Communicate information between facility representatives and Intertek personnel.
- Maintain expenses within given guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED with 10+ years of directly related experience; associate degree with 5+ years; or bachelor’s degree with 1+ year.
- Experience in electronic/electrical testing, quality/reliability testing, engineering, electrical inspection, manufacturing, or quality control.
- Access to the internet.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand for prolonged periods, climb stairs/ladders.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
- Ability to travel up to 75% as business needs dictate.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.; I‑9 verification required.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the National Electric Code and/or product compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of quality control methods (ISO 9000/14000, QS 9000, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Statistical Process Control).
