Position: Subcontractor ISO Lead Auditor (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)

Role Description

This is a subcontractor hybrid role for an ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 Lead Auditor based in South Africa, with the flexibility to work from home on occasion. The ISO Lead Auditor is responsible for planning, conducting, and reporting management system audits in line with ISO/IEC 17021-1 requirements, ensuring impartiality, consistency, and competence. The role supports GTICS in delivering high-quality certification services across multiple industries.

The Lead Auditor will be responsible for planning, conducting, and reporting audits in conformance with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards. Duties include ensuring high-quality certification processes, preparing audit reports, assessing quality and risk management systems.

Audit Delivery

• Conduct Stage 1, Stage 2, surveillance, recertification, transfer, and scope extension audits.
• Plan and prepare audits, including review of client documentation and audit programmes.
• Gather objective evidence through interviews, document reviews, and observations.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of client management systems against ISO standards.
• Identify and document nonconformities, opportunities for improvement, and positive findings.
• Prepare accurate, clear, and comprehensive audit reports.
• Maintain and submit an up-to-date audit log for review by GTICS, demonstrating audit competence across relevant IAF codes.

Certification Process Support

• Provide audit recommendations to GTICS, without involvement in certification decisions.
• Ensure impartiality and declare any conflicts of interest before each audit assignment.
• Submit all audit documentation and records within agreed timelines.
• Provide technical support to the administration team for review of audit reports and conducting knowledge transfer sessions

Impartiality & Professional Conduct

• Maintain independence, integrity, and confidentiality at all times.
• Adhere strictly to GTICS impartiality policies and conflict-of-interest requirements.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of and hands‑on experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards
• Strong auditing skills, including planning, conducting, and reporting audits
• Proficiency in quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety compliance and risk management systems
• Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage hybrid work responsibilities effectively
• Relevant auditing certifications and training qualifications
• Knowledge in sustainability practices and the ability to align ISO conformance to organizational goals
• A commitment to the values of passion, innovation, integrity, and customer‑centricity
• Valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel where necessary for audits
• A degree or diploma in a relevant field is preferred

Lead Auditor qualification in at least two of the following standards:

• ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management Systems)
• ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health & Safety)
• ISO/IEC 27001:2022 (Information Security Management)

Mandatory

Evidence of a maintained Audit Log (minimum of 4 complete audits per standard, covering Stage 1 & 2 where applicable).

Preferred Academic Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in relevant fields (Quality, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline).
• Registration with SAATCA or equivalent auditor registration body is an advantage (Advantageous).

Must be competent to lead audits on ISO 9001, 14001, & 45001 for IAF Code 17 - Basic Metals and Fabricated Metal Products NACE Rev. 2 Code
25.50 Forging, pressing, stamping and roll‑forming of metal; powder metallurgy (Advantageous). This role is best suited for candidates from South Africa.
