The salary range for this position is $83,000 to $114,000. The final offer will be determined based on the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and internal equity considerations. Please note that the offer may fall anywhere within the posted range and is not necessarily at the top end.
Overview- The Quality Specialist provides support to the Quality Manager on the Fraser River Tunnel Project (FRTP). The position is responsible for performing on-site and internal quality assurance tasks for the Project.
- Vacation starts at five weeks and with an additional one day per year of service to a maximum of six weeks.

- Monitors the reporting and rectification of process and construction non-conformities, and compliance with the project agreements and applicable specifications.
- Reviews quality-related submissions from the contractor to verify conformance with applicable standards, codes, and project specifications, and provides comments or recommendations as necessary.
- Reviews turnover documentation and completion packages for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with the requirements outlined in the Project Agreement and Quality Management System.
- Prepares, schedules, coordinates, and participates in the Province’s Quality Audit Program for key project processes.
- Performs on-site inspections of construction activities throughout all stages of the work to verify compliance with project requirements and quality standards, and reports observations and recommendations to the Quality Manager for issue management.
- Provides training, guidance, and coaching to construction team members on quality inspection requirements, including key items to review and areas requiring attention during construction. Liaises with the technical and construction teams to close out non‑conformity reports and creates non‑conformity reports, when needed.
- Liaises with the commercial team on the extent, status and background of quality issues and non‑compliance events.
- Implements, maintains, and ensures the effective operation of the internal Quality Management System.
- Monitors Project Co’s compliance with the audit program requirements under the project agreements, including tracking audit findings, responses, corrective actions, and related non‑conformities.
- Ensures correct codes, standards, job specifications, project procedures, federal and provincial regulations are properly identified, correctly specified in detail, and met or exceeded.
- Develops processes to track observations, deficiencies, non‑compliance, and corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensures that relevant records are maintained and retained in accordance with the Quality Management System during the construction, project handover and close out process.
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering or equivalent and considerable related experience working with project teams supporting the quality aspect of large construction projects, ideally in highway, and bridge construction.
- Experience conducting quality audits and addressing quality issues to minimize construction impacts and supporting timely project completion.
- Sound knowledge of quality management.
- Sound judgement, excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving and prioritizing skills to anticipate and assess issues and determine the best solution or course of action.
