As an Assessor & IQA, you'll play a key role in shaping learner success, providing high-quality assessment, guidance, and quality assurance across specialist fire safety programmes. This is a varied position where your expertise will directly contribute to raising standards across fire risk awareness, compliance, and safety practice.

Responsibilities- Support learners through their qualification journey, providing clear, structured, and actionable feedback.
- Assess learner work and track progress against programme requirements.
- Deliver guidance on assessment processes across both online and classroom settings.
- Conduct Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) to ensure consistency, compliance, and high standards.
- Mentor and support assessors, promoting best practice and standardisation.
- Manage your caseload effectively, meeting deadlines and quality expectations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of assessment materials and processes.
- Identify and address any issues relating to plagiarism or malpractice.
- Collaborate with internal teams and subject matter experts to enhance learning quality.
- Level 4 qualification in Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English, or relevant experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proactive and solutions‑focused approach.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Confident stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building.
- Collaborative mindset with a willingness to share knowledge.
- Experience assessing or supporting learners in a professional or technical environment.
- Knowledge of fire safety disciplines such as fire doors or passive fire protection.
- Experience delivering structured, constructive feedback.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, including Word and Excel.
- Experience conducting fire risk assessments and report writing.
- Experience working with regulated qualifications or awarding bodies.
