Position: STE5 Examiner
Location: City Of London

Asset Inspector (STE5 Examiner)

Asset Inspect is a fast‑growing inspection division helping clients inspect and manage their assets using our in‑house software. As an STE5 Examiner you will carry out visual and detailed inspections on railway buildings, depots and stations (fabric and M&E). You will report directly to the Examinations Manager and ensure inspections are completed safely, to a high standard, and within the required timescale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out visual and detailed inspections on buildings, depots and stations to  /L3/CIV/006.
  • Ensure all examinations comply with safety and quality standards.
  • Conduct yourself on site in a courteous manner with clients and members of the public.
  • Plan your day/week proactively, arranging access as needed to carry out inspections.
  • Report and, if necessary, raise any issues or lost time to your line manager.
Essential Qualifications
  • Experience carrying out visual and detailed inspections to  /L3/CIV/006.
  • Valid STE5 competency.
  • Valid PTS / IWA certificate.
  • Good understanding of materials, defects and risk scoring.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Punctual and reliable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • HNC/D in Buildings Construction, Studies, Surveying or Services.
  • In‑date COSS qualification.
  • Experience working in a remote environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
