OverviewAt BSI, we are looking for a Product Certification Auditor to play a key role in maintaining product excellence. In this role, you'll conduct product certification assessments across varied environments, ensuring compliance with BSI's rigorous certification schemes and Kitemark standards.
We're seeking professionals to deliver 3rd party product assessment audits across the following areas:
Construction Products Inc. Concrete & Aggregates, Fenestration, EN 1090 Steel & Aluminium Structures, Mechanical Assembly, Fabrication & Welding.
Previous auditing experience is a plus, as well as expertise in quality management systems (ISO 9001). 9001 Lead Auditor certification would be a distinct benefit.
Remote position with frequent travel to deliver audits.
Essential Responsibilities- Prepare assessment reports and deliver findings to clients to ensure client understanding of the assessment decision and clear direction to particular items of corrective action where appropriate
- Recommend the issue, re-issue or withdrawal of certificates, and report recommendations in accordance with BSI policy, procedures and prescribed time frame.
- Maintain overall account responsibility and accountability for nominated accounts to ensure an effective partnership, whilst ensuring excellent service delivery and account growth.
- Lead assessment teams as required ensuring that team members are adequately briefed so that quality of service is maintained and that effective working relationships are sustained both with Clients and within the team.
- Provide accurate and prompt information to support services, working closely with them to ensure that client records are up to date and complete and that all other internal information requirements are met.
- Plan/schedule workloads to make best use of own time and maximise revenue-earning activity.
- Responsible for attending any required training and following all procedures/processes/policies within BSI for management of clients, management of a home-based office, use of BSI equipment and communication both internal and external to the organization
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills, to include preparation for and taking standardized assessments related to knowledge and application of audit practices
- Responsible for managing a portfolio of assigned clients based on location and a match of qualifications and client contract requirements
- Responsible for monitoring the client accounts to ensure that records, visit cycle, invoicing and other related matters are properly dealt with to assure client
- A minimum of 4 years' industry experience gained within a specified product manufacturing environment and emphasis on quality management or product certification
- Qualified to degree level within a manufacturing or construction related subject
- Previous experience in product assessment or auditing, against standards
- Can travel frequently across the UK
- Knowledge of quality management system auditing practices (ISO 9001)
