Assistant Garment Technologist

Overview

Assistant Garment Technologist – Premium Womenswear Brand. Hybrid role with 1 day per week working from home. This position supports the Garment Technologists across premium womenswear collections to ensure products meet high standards for fit, quality and performance. • Support the Garment Technologists throughout the product development process, from initial samples through to production.
• Assist with fit sessions by preparing samples, taking accurate notes and updating fit comments.
• Measure and assess garments against technical specifications and size charts.
• Help maintain accurate technical files, specifications and product records.
• Liaise with Design, Buying and Production teams to ensure clear communication throughout development.
• Review and monitor sample quality, construction and workmanship, escalating any concerns where necessary.
• Support communication with suppliers regarding fit, construction and quality comments.
• Assist with garment testing, care label approvals and product compliance documentation.
• Help ensure critical path deadlines are met by tracking samples and approvals.
• Contribute to continuous improvements in fit consistency, product quality and technical standards across collections.

• Previous experience in a similar Junior Garment Technologist or Technical Assistant role across womenswear.
• A qualification in Clothing Technology, Fashion or a related discipline is desirable.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics and fit.
• Confident measuring garments and interpreting technical specifications.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships across teams and with suppliers.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience using PLM or product management systems being an advantage.
• Positive, collaborative and eager to learn, with a genuine enthusiasm for premium fashion.
