About the Role:

Reporting to the OLM Team Lead, the Trainee Online Monitoring (OLM) Technician is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of Online Monitoring systems, ensuring systems are functioning correctly and delivering accurate and reliable data. This role plays an important part in the ongoing monitoring of asset condition and performance, helping to identify system issues, maintain monitoring records and support the successful delivery of monitoring services.

Full training will be provided, enabling you to develop knowledge of monitoring technologies, reporting processes and remote support activities while working as part of an experienced team.

Key Responsibilities:

Online Monitoring and System Support

Learn to understand and operate Online Monitoring (OLM) systems across a range of customer projects.
Perform routine daily checks of monitoring systems to verify correct operation and system availability.
Record system statistics and performance data in daily logs to track trends and long-term performance.
Monitor system activity and identify issues, faults or potential developing concerns.
Log system errors, anomalies and operational events accurately and in a timely manner.
Monitor data storage, data usage and system availability, ensuring information is archived appropriately.

Reporting and Documentation

Produce daily logs and maintain accurate monitoring records.
Generate periodic summary reports in accordance with project and customer requirements.
Assist with the production of reactive reports following alarms, system events or monitoring alerts using approved procedures.
Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and maintained in line with company quality requirements.

Technical and Customer Support

Support project teams when site activities may impact monitoring systems or data collection.
Work closely with fellow OLM Technicians and the OLM Team Lead to ensure the smooth delivery of monitoring services.

Health, Safety, Quality and Compliance

Carry out all activities in accordance with company Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) policies and procedures.
Participate in safety observations and good catch reporting programmes.
Ensure quality documentation is kept up to date and completed in accordance with project requirements.

About You:

Requirements:

A strong interest in engineering and electronics, as week as hands-on technical work.
An eagerness to build a long-term career in engineering, seeing the value in training and development to get there.
Background in engineering, electronics.
Good attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures accurately.
Comfortable working in site-based environments and varied working conditions.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Good organisational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Flexibility to travel and work away from home for project requirements.

Qualifications

Full UK driving licence with no more than three current penalty points.
Basic site safety certification such as CSCS, CCNSG, Working at Height, Confined Space or GWO qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.
