Eaton MSD Cheltenham are looking for a Goods Inwards Inspector to ensure that all incoming materials, components, and assemblies supplied to the organisation meet required aerospace quality, regulatory, and contractual standards before being released into production. The role safeguards product integrity maintains compliance with aerospace quality systems (e.g., AS9100), and prevents non conforming material from entering the manufacturing process.

• Inspection & Verification Perform dimensional, visual, and documentation inspections on incoming goods against engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, and quality requirements.
• Verify supplier documentation such as Certificates of Conformance (CoC), material certifications, test reports, FAIRs (AS9102), and traceability records.
• Use a range of inspection tools, including verniers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM outputs, and other calibrated equipment.
• Identify, segregate, and record non‑conforming materials in accordance with company quality procedures.
• Quality Control & Compliance Ensure all inspections comply with AS9100, customer‑specific requirements, and internal quality standards.
• Support internal and external audits by providing accurate and complete inspection records.
• Maintain effective control of calibrated tools and verify they are within valid calibration periods.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and root cause analysis for supplier issues.
• Data Management & Reporting Accurately record inspection results in the company ERP/MRP or quality management system.
• Raise non‑conformance reports (NCRs) and communicate issues promptly to Quality and Supply Chain teams.
• Maintain organised records of incoming inspections for traceability and audit readiness.
• Collaboration & Communication Work closely with Supply Chain, Quality Engineering, Production, and Suppliers to resolve inspection and documentation issues.
• Provide feedback to the Purchasing team on supplier performance and recurring non‑conformances.
• Support continuous improvement in the Goods Inwards process.

• Essential Proven experience in a quality, inspection, or goods inwards role within aerospace, defence, or precision engineering. Strong understanding of engineering drawings, geometric tolerances, specifications, and material standards.
