About the role

Be part of delivering one of the UK's most important energy infrastructure programmes.

At Balfour Beatty Power Transmission & Distribution, we're helping to build the networks that will power the UK's future. As part of our work on the BTNO programme in Suffolk, we're looking for a Quality Inspector to join our team and play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of quality are achieved across our projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional who enjoys being close to delivery, working collaboratively with project teams and supply chain partners, and driving a strong Right First Time culture on major infrastructure projects.

What you'll be doing

As a Quality Inspector, you'll support project teams in maintaining compliance with quality requirements and ensuring construction activities are delivered to the required standards from the outset.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and reporting quality performance against project and business KPIs.
  • Conducting inspections and audits across project activities and the supply chain.
  • Supporting the management of suppliers through quality assessments, compliance monitoring and improvement initiatives.
  • Assisting project teams in the use of digital quality and governance systems.
  • Maintaining local quality management processes and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
  • Supporting internal, client and certification audits.
  • Coordinating quality documentation and project handover requirements.
  • Assisting with investigations into quality-related issues and non-conformances.
  • Promoting lessons learned, best practice and continual improvement across the project.
  • Supporting the delivery of quality awareness and training initiatives.
Who we're looking for

We're interested in speaking with candidates who have experience within construction, utilities, infrastructure, engineering, manufacturing or a similarly regulated environment.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience in a Quality Inspector, Quality Coordinator, Quality Advisor or similar quality-focused role.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and inspection processes.
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving quality issues.
  • The ability to build effective working relationships with site teams, suppliers and clients.
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
  • Experience working within major infrastructure, energy, utilities or construction projects would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management principles is desirable.
