Industrial Engineer - Quality Systems

Our client, a leading manufacturer of industrial components, is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer with a specialization in Quality Systems to join their team in Port Elizabeth
. This role involves a hybrid work model, balancing essential on-site operations with remote flexibility. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust quality management systems that ensure product consistency, reduce defects, and enhance overall manufacturing quality. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of quality methodologies, statistical process control (SPC), and continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with production, engineering, and quality control teams to identify quality issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions.

This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to drive quality improvements throughout the product lifecycle. • Develop, implement, and manage quality assurance and quality control systems within the manufacturing environment.
• Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor production processes and identify deviations.
• Conduct root cause analysis for quality defects and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Develop and maintain quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and inspection criteria.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure new products meet quality standards.
• Perform internal audits of quality systems and processes to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Train production and quality personnel on quality standards and best practices.
• Analyze quality data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for cost reduction.
• Champion a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
• Stay updated on industry standards and regulatory requirements related to quality management.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial engineering with a strong focus on quality systems and assurance.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
• Expertise in Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Root Cause Analysis techniques.
  
  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools.
• Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control methodologies.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a hybrid environment.
• Experience in the automotive or manufacturing sector in South Africa is preferred.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
