Location: Newport – Agile / Remote Working (Island presence required when necessary)
Contract: Temporary – 16 Weeks (extension possible)

The Opportunity
An interim opportunity has arisen within the Strategic Assets Team to support a diverse and high-profile property portfolio.
The estate comprises approximately 800 assets including operational buildings (schools, leisure centres, care homes, heritage sites and parks) and a significant commercial portfolio (industrial units, restaurants, tourism concessions and mainland holdings).
This assignment is initially focused on clearing a backlog of rent reviews and lease renewals, alongside broader landlord and tenant estates management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing landlord and tenant matters across the commercial estate
- Leading rent reviews and lease renewals
- Overseeing rental income and service charge processes
- Liaising with tenants, consultants, contractors and legal services
- Supporting acquisitions, disposals and regeneration initiatives
- Maintaining accurate property and compliance records
- Providing professional estates and valuation advice as required
- Proven commercial property management experience
- Experience managing rental income and service charges
- Ability to negotiate lease events and resolve arrears matters
- Strong understanding of relevant property legislation
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and property systems
- RICS qualified (or working towards)
- Local authority or public sector experience
- Experience analysing local property markets and advising on valuations

- Availability to attend the Island when required is essential
