Building Surveyor

It’s exciting time for all things property in our district!

We have a new 5-year Asset Management Strategy to deliver against our diverse portfolio of assets which include a football stadium, a shopping centre, several community assets including a Grade 2
* listed building, housing properties, offices together with our live entertainmentvenue.

The Property, Regeneration and Climate Action Team is a friendly, multi-disciplinary team. It has skills and expertise across asset management, building surveying, workplace management, statutory compliance and maintenance together with significant expertise in building project and contract management together with development and regeneration.

You will play a key role in ensuring building condition surveys and regular inspections of council property are carried out.

You will assist with the planning and management of Capital Works, taking into consideration health and safety, best value, best practice and sustainability.

You will be the “go-to” person for building surveys and minor capital projects. You will have the benefit and support that comes from joining a well-established and highly regarded property team.

Your days will be varied and interesting whilst building your knowledge and experience.

You will be a building survying graduate or have experience in the delivery of building condition services and a willingness to progress to Charted Status. You will be able to working collaboratively with other members of a team and have up-to-date knowledge of guidance and best practice, in relation to construction, building maintenance and building services.

We’re less about you driving to work and more about driving down our carbon footprint (meeting our pledge to be carbon neutral by 2030). Our hybrid working policy offers many employees the opportunity to work from home up to three days at week should they wish (pro rata for part time working).

In support of our people and our Climate Change Strategy, we welcome hybrid working and are happy to talk flexible working too, where appropriate to the role. There are some roles where hybrid and/or flexible working may not be possible, particularly where we need to be responsive to meet the needs of our residents and businesses.

Thursdays are currently the teams “all-in” day.
