Westminster City Council is seeking two experienced Investment Surveyors to support the Temporary Accommodation Acquisitions Team within the Housing Directorate. This team plays a crucial role in securing suitable residential accommodation for use as temporary housing across the borough.

About the Role

As an Investment Surveyor, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and securing residential properties — from single units to entire blocks — that meet the council’s accommodation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

* Acquisition and leasing of private sector residential properties

* Sourcing suitable accommodation stock across Westminster

* Negotiating purchase and lease terms with landlords and agents

* Overseeing pre‑purchase due diligence

* Preparing detailed internal reports in accordance with council governance procedures

* Conducting property site inspections as part of the acquisition process

Candidate Requirements

We are seeking property professionals who can bring strong commercial insight and technical expertise to the team.

Essential Skills & Experience

* Minimum 3 years’ experience in commercial or residential property transactions

* Strong commercial acumen and negotiation abilities

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* High numeracy and proficiency with Windows and Excel

* Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload

Desirable

* RICS qualification preferred

* Relevant experience within residential sales, lettings, or acquisitions will also be considered
