ROLE OVERVIEWWe are seeking a Residential Surveyor (AssocRICS or MRICS) to join our Survey and Professional Services team, delivering high-quality valuation and professional survey work for major UK lenders and private clients.
This home-based role offers centrally managed diaries and dedicated administrative support, allowing you to focus on inspections, report quality and professional judgement while maintaining a genuine work-life balance.
You’ll undertake lender valuations, Red Book valuations for probate, taxation and matrimonial purposes and, where appropriate, Homebuyer Reports and Building Surveys, supported by realistic workloads that allow you to focus on quality rather than volume.
We believe exceptional surveying starts with quality, not volume. Our surveyors are supported with realistic workloads that prioritise accuracy, defensibility and professional standards.
ROLE EXPECTATIONSThis role requires strong technical capability, sound judgement and disciplined compliance.
You will take ownership of inspections and reporting while operating within a well-organised professional support structure.
You will:
- Undertake valuation and survey work in accordance with lender and RICS standards
- Deliver accurate, robust reports within agreed SLAs
- Follow specific lender guidance and Red Book requirements
- Maintain CPD in line with RICS regulatory obligations
- Keep up to date with market and regulatory developments
- Adhere to Quality Assurance, Health & Safety and internal compliance procedures
You’ll build trusted relationships with lenders and private clients through consistent technical excellence and professional service.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKEYou’ll be successful in this role if:
- Your reports are technically sound and delivered within SLA
- You apply strong professional judgement on every inspection
- Lenders value your reliability and communication
- You actively progress towards MRICS and ongoing CPD
- You contribute positively to a collaborative technical team
Most weeks, you’ll be:
- Attending pre-booked inspections across your patch
- Undertaking lender valuations in line with panel requirements
- Completing Red Book valuations for probate, taxation and matrimonial purposes
- Preparing Homebuyer Reports and Building Surveys where required
- Delivering reports within SLA and compliance standards
- Developing competencies aligned to MRICS progression
Supported by centrally coordinated diaries and dedicated administrative support, you’ll spend more time surveying and less time managing administration.
WHO THIS ROLE IS FORThis role suits someone who:
- Is working towards, or ready to begin, the MRICS pathway
- Has strong knowledge of building pathology and lender expectations
- Understands residential property markets
- Communicates clearly and professionally
- Is self-motivated and committed to technical progression
We take chartership seriously and provide a clear, structured and well supported pathway, including:
- Dedicated MRICS qualified supervisors and counsellors
- Structured mentoring and regular progress reviews
- Support with competency selection, case study preparation and ethics
- Paid professional fees, exams and resits
- Protected time for APC related development and CPD
For most candidates, this typically results in chartership within 12 to 24 months, depending on experience and APC entry point.
Beyond MRICS, there are clear opportunities to progress into senior technical, specialist valuation and broader professional advisory roles.
