IntroductionUNDP is hiring five Research Assistant positions. These roles are contract‑based and offer the flexibility of remote work, enabling early‑career professionals from diverse locations to contribute to high‑impact research and policy development.
Job Responsibilities- Collect, process, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data related to SDGs and global initiatives using surveys, interviews and secondary sources.
- Draft reports, research papers and policy briefs that translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights for internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Support the development of evidence‑based policy recommendations, identifying gaps and formulating strategies that align with UNDP’s mission.
- Coordinate with internal researchers, program managers and external partners, facilitating interviews and collaborative research efforts.
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating the impact of UNDP projects, tracking progress, assessing outcomes and providing improvement suggestions.
Educational Background
- Possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Development Studies, Political Science, Economics, Environmental Science, International Relations or a related field.
Professional Experience
- Prior work with international organizations, NGOs or academic institutions is desirable.
- Experience with large datasets and both qualitative and quantitative analysis.
- Proficiency in SPSS, Stata or Excel is highly valued.
Additional Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication for drafting concise reports and conveying findings.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in multicultural, cross‑functional teams.
- Familiarity with statistical tools and data visualization techniques.
