Part Time - Delirium in Older Adults - Research Assistant

The Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing is looking for a Parttime Research Assistant (RA) for a National Institutes of Health (NIH) Study on Delirium in Hospitalized Older Adults.
We are hiring part‑time RAs for a research project titled “READI-SET-GO:
Researching Efficient Approaches to Delirium Identification‑Sustaining Effective Translation to Create Gero‑friendly Organizations”. This implementation study investigates a twice‑daily nurse‑led 2‑step delirium identification screening. The project is being implemented in three communities in PA and MA; funding is based at University Park, PA, some RAs traveling to Hershey for data collection or located in Hershey. We are hiring staff for in‑person data collection at Mount Nittany Medical Center and Hershey Medical Center/Penn State Health in PA;
most training and meetings will be virtual. Approximately 10–20 hours per week.
- Assist with in‑person recruiting, consenting, and screening research participants, clinical research procedures, and medical record reviews.
- Conduct inter‑rater reliability checks.
- Assist with data entry, data management, and maintaining data protection & quality.
- May assist with literature search and other research work assigned.
- Attend and contribute to scheduled team meetings.
- Assist with marketing and communication where needed.
- Other duties as needed to carry out study procedures.
- Must have completed the COVID‑19 vaccination and other required immunizations at least 2 weeks prior to employment, as required by clinical research sites.
- Must be a team player who can work with faculty and all research team members, and also work independently to meet project deadlines.
- Strong professional and interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Preference may be given to individuals specializing in healthcare or related fields who have experience working with older adults with cognitive impairment or delirium.
