Description
The Hydrological Sciences Laboratory at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center is seeking a post‑doctoral candidate in hydrologic applications of remotely sensed precipitation. The candidate will work with other members of the Lab to develop a comprehensive understanding of the global water cycle by providing expertise in the measurement and analysis of precipitation at all scales.
Ideal qualifications include educational experience in remote sensing of rainfall and/or snowfall. Candidates should have interests in evaluating regional to global precipitation products, developing spatial downscaling methods for land‑surface hydrology models, and exploring applications of these products. The NASA Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) satellite mission, launched in 2014, provides near‑global precipitation estimates at high spatial and temporal resolution. The candidate will help conduct GPM analysis and contribute to hydrologic applications of GPM data.
