Temporary full-time position from March 2026 through May 2026. Work remotely based in Northern Illinois with travel to field sites. Opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in disease ecology. Gain hands-on experience in fieldwork, data management, and teamwork. Flexible start and end dates within the specified timeframe.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct tick and habitat sampling activities in the upper Midwest region following established protocols
• Drive to various field sampling sites to collect and identify tick specimens
• Record detailed data, including collection locations and environmental conditions
• Assist in data entry and analysis using appropriate software
• Collaborate with the research team to meet project goals and adhere to safety protocols

• High school diploma or equivalent certification
• Valid Class E (MO) or Class D (IL) driver s license with a good driving record
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a small team
• Comfortable working outdoors under various weather conditions
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays as needed

• Bachelor s degree in a related field
• Skills in biology, ecology, entomology, and field research
• Experience with data compilation and analysis
• Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork abilities
• Familiarity with sampling techniques and species identification
