Summary of the Position:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Research Analyst and Knowledge Mobilization Lead (“Analyst”) will help the CAIS team and member schools turn data and evidence into actionable insights to support our charitable mission. The Analyst will use internal proprietary data as well as publicly available relevant research to generate timely, accurate, actionable reports and training for member schools and the CAIS board to support school improvement and sustainability.
The successful candidate will balance strong research skills with quantitative and qualitative data with the ability to see the big‑picture, contextualize results for insight and action, and communicate effectively with school leaders to achieve positive outcomes.
Position Responsibilities
The Research Analyst and Knowledge Mobilization Lead at CAIS has two distinct but
interconnected areas of responsibility.
- Internal and External Research Analysis:
Work collaboratively with CAIS team members to design meaningful and relevant data gathering tools, to interpret and report insights from multiple sources of data relating to school improvement and share insights to help CAIS and CAIS schools continue to be leading Canadian Independent schools. - Knowledge Mobilization:
Provide support to member schools through thoughtful integration of research to inform and improve professional learning and accreditation within CAIS as well as help create a culture of evidence based education in CAIS schools.
The role is primarily remote (candidates from across Canada are invited to apply) but will occasionally require travel within North America. Some weekend work is required.

CAIS functions as a virtual workplace with team members working collaboratively from home offices within Canada. Regardless of their physical location, CAIS employees are expected to follow Ontario ESA (2021) established guidelines for employee workplace environments, including all organizational rules, policies, and procedures. Full‑time CAIS employees receive retirement support and can participate in a comprehensive employer health and dental benefits program at the conclusion of a three‑month probationary period.
Specific Accountabilities Include:
- Be responsible for producing timely, accurate and useful research reports for member schools
- Revise and maintain resources to mobilize current research to support school improvement
- Support the professional learning community within CAIS with evidence based best practices
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external constituent groups to ensure that CAIS schools remain leading educational institutions
- Act as the point person for research enquiries from member schools
- Support cultures of data informed decision making within CAIS schools
- Maintain positive working relationships with members and partner organizations
