PhD Candidate in Biodiversity Change  Radboud University is offering a PhD position focused on understanding and predicting global biodiversity changes and identifying conservation solutions. Minimum Qualifications   MSc degree in  Biology, Ecology, or a related field  within the natural sciences.
Familiarity with statistical and/or process-explicit ecological modelling.

Experience with programming languages such as R, Python, or Matlab.
Strong data processing and programming skills.
Collaborative and solution-oriented research approach.
Proficient in written and spoken English.

Job Description    Research Focus:  Develop and apply global models to understand biodiversity responses to human activities, using global datasets on biodiversity and environmental drivers.
Scenario Simulations:  Explore impacts of future environmental changes and conservation measures on species and ecological communities.

Collaboration:

Work with researchers from the PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency for policy and decision support.
Teaching Responsibilities:  Dedicate 10% of working time to teaching BSc and MSc students, including guiding students and developing course materials.

Terms:

Temporary 1.0 FTE contract for 1.5 years, extendable to a total of 4 years based on performance evaluation.
Salary:  Starting salary of €2,770 gross per month, increasing to €3,539 in the fourth year, with additional holiday and end-of-year bonuses.
