We are looking for researchers with a strong Chemistry background to help fine-tune and evaluate large language models (LLMs). Your work will help LLMs better understand and solve complex chemistry problems, including multi-step conceptual or quantitative questions in organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, and computational chemistry.
Responsibilities- Respond to research objectives by performing tasks such as deriving rate laws for reactions in differential packed-bed reactors with catalyst mass and flow rate considerations, including rate forms with pressure-dependent terms.
- Calculate equilibrium concentrations for gas streams in high-temperature processes (e.g., coal gasification with steam and air) under specified conditions (e.g., 1000 K).
- Academic Background:
Enrolled in or completed a PhD/Postdoc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related field. - Analytical
Skills:
Strong ability to solve advanced chemistry problems with clear and structured reasoning. - Communication
Skills:
Ability to explain complex chemical concepts clearly and provide precise feedback. - Research Independence:
Capable of working independently in a remote research environment and actively participating in team discussions. - Technical Setup:
Access to a reliable computer and internet connection for remote assignments.
Note: This position is open only to candidates who have completed or are currently pursuing a Ph.D.; applications that do not meet this criterion will not be considered.
Time Commitment & Contract Details- Commitment: at least 4 hours per day and a minimum of 20 hours per week with 4 hours of overlap with PST. Options: 20, 30, or 40 hours per week.
- Engagement Type:
Contractor assignment / freelancer (no medical paid leave). - Duration: 1 month (expected start date next week).
- Selection Process:
Task-based assessment for shortlisted candidates, followed by a contract offer with defined timelines and workload.
