Overview
Thomson Reuters Labs in London is seeking a motivated research intern to lead an independent research project at the intersection of cutting‑edge AI and real‑world applications.
About the RoleThe internship is typically six months, with a flexible start date aligned with your schedule.
What You’ll Do- Drive Research: Lead experiments to answer cutting‑edge research questions, design evaluations, and analyze results.
- Innovate: Explore novel approaches and emerging technologies that advance Thomson Reuters product portfolio.
- Collaborate & Disseminate: Work with experienced research scientists and share findings through internal presentations and external publications.
- Academic Foundation: Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or a related field with demonstrated research experience (at least one publication required).
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of NLP and ML methodologies, including experience with large language models; proven ability to design, implement, and evaluate ML experiments.

Proficiency in Python and relevant frameworks (PyTorch, Tensor Flow, Hugging Face, etc.). - Research

Experience working with unstructured datasets and applying data‑preprocessing techniques; data‑driven approach to problem‑solving and decision‑making. - Practical
Experience:
Familiarity with version control systems (Git Hub, Git Lab) and exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud). - Collaboration: Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for teamwork.
- Additional: Availability to commit to a full internship and willingness to work in London.
