Are you passionate about pushing the boundaries of NLP and ML research? Thomson Reuters Labs in London is seeking a motivated research intern to lead an independent research project at the intersection of cutting‑edge AI and real‑world applications.
About the RoleAs a Research Intern you will take ownership of a research project aligned with Thomson Reuters products, working alongside a diverse, interdisciplinary team of global experts. The typical internship lasts six months with a flexible start date that aligns with your schedule.
Responsibilities- Drive research: lead experiments to answer cutting‑edge research questions, designing evaluations and analysing results
- Innovate: explore novel approaches and emerging technologies that advance TR’s product portfolio
- Collaborate & disseminate: work with experienced research scientists and share findings through internal presentations and external publications
- Currently enrolled in a PhD programme in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics or a related field with at least one publication required
- Strong understanding of NLP and ML methodologies, including experience with large language models
- Proven ability to design, implement and evaluate ML experiments
- Proficiency in Python and relevant frameworks (PyTorch, Tensor Flow, Hugging Face, etc.)
- Experience with unstructured data and data‑preprocessing techniques
- Data‑driven problem‑solving mindset
- Familiarity with version control (Git Hub, Git Lab) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for teamwork
