Job Summary
We are a collective seeking an Analytical Development Senior Chemist to join our Scientific team on a 6‑month contract ending January 1st, 2027. The position is based at our Toronto Head Office in Liberty Village and requires a 5‑day a week on‑site presence.
Pay RangeThe anticipated base salary is between $80,000 and $90,000.
Responsibilities- Develop analytical methods for scientific research departments and QC labs using software and instruments such as LC‑MS, HPLC, and ICP‑MS to support research and routine analysis.
- Execute and troubleshoot analytical activities, including method transfer, validation, performance qualification, performance verification, and stability studies.
- Conduct investigations related to product issues, compatibility studies, and provide technical expertise for deviations and other product‑related investigations.
- Perform data analysis, documentation, and reporting of results in accordance with DECIEM SOPs, cGLP, and cGMP.
- Provide technical support and training to team members on troubleshooting, procedure implementation, instrument set‑up, and method issues.
- Guide the design and execution of analytical methods in the developmental stage.
- Support laboratory growth by developing workflows and standard procedures for new and existing instrumentation and processes.
- Anticipate potential problems with equipment and supplies, and initiate action to solve or prevent them.
- Conduct calibrations and routine maintenance of analytical instrumentation; review data, write protocols, and generate reports.
- Follow cGLPs, cGMPs and cGDPs, and all relevant internal procedures to ensure compliance with Corporate Quality Systems.
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in analytical method development and validation in a GMP or GLP environment, or an academic background (PhD preferred).
- Expertise in analytical techniques: LC‑MS, HPLC, ICP‑MS, UV, IR, and wet chemistry, including chromatographic data systems and laboratory software.
- Knowledge of DOE principles and software.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong understanding of the scientific method and the ability to use a systematic approach to problem solving.
