About the role

We're looking for a driven and passionate individual to join us as an Economist. As part of the Strategic Insight team, you'll work alongside economists, data analysts, data scientists and social researchers to produce the evidence that drives Which?’s programme of advocacy activities. You’ll help shape our priorities, evaluate our impact, and produce high‑quality economic insight that holds businesses to account and persuades the government and regulators to act in the best interests of consumers.

You will produce high-quality economic insight that determines our policy positions and will be used to support our purpose of championing consumers. You will have autonomy to explore different methodologies and develop innovative research and analysis. You’ll work closely with colleagues in our public affairs teams to understand the needs of our audiences and to ensure your work reaches them.

Our Strategic Insight team is key to understanding whether markets deliver good outcomes for consumers. Our economic research has been used by the government in impact assessments for the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Bill, by Ofcom to support its decision to ban inflation‑linked mid‑contract price rises, and more.
