As a Genomic Breeder, you will play a key role in bringing new genomic technologies into our breeding programs and helping breeders make better, data-driven decisions.
Working at the intersection of breeding, genomics, data science, and bioinformatics, you will translate complex genetic insights into tools and strategies that accelerate breeding progress.
Through close collaboration with breeders and technical specialists, you will contribute to the development of the next generation of vegetable varieties.

In this role, your work will include- Partnering with breeders to understand breeding challenges, objectives, and opportunities.
- Driving the implementation of genomic selection, predictive breeding, and other data-driven breeding approaches within breeding programs.
- Analyzing genotypic and phenotypic data and translating insights into breeding strategies and recommendations.
- Ensuring the quality, consistency, and interpretation of genotypic and phenotypic data used in breeding decisions.
- Contributing crop-specific expertise to the development of new methods, workflows, and software together with data scientists and bioinformaticians.
- Leading implementation projects and supporting stakeholder alignment, adoption, and continuous improvement of new breeding technologies.

With your strong communication skills and breeder‑centric mindset, you build trust, influence stakeholders, and create enthusiasm for change.
You take ownership, collaborate effectively, and remain resilient when navigating new ways of working.
- An MSc or PhD in Plant Breeding, Genetics, Quantitative Genetics, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or a related field;
- At least 2 years of experience in genomic breeding, genomic selection, predictive breeding, or a related discipline;
- Experience analyzing and interpreting genotypic and phenotypic data in a breeding context;
- Knowledge of modern breeding principles, including genetic gain, selection strategies, experimental design, and breeding KPIs;
- Sufficient bioinformatics and scripting literacy to collaborate effectively with data scientists and bioinformaticians;
- Strong project management, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

What you can expect from us- A position for 38 hours per week;
- A gross monthly salary ranges between €4,356.06 to €6,222.94, based on a full-time workweek of 38 hours and aligned with your knowledge and experience;
- 8.33% vacation allowance and an attractive annual bonus program of 10% of your annual salary, depending on your job level and company performance;
- 25 vacation days, the option to purchase additional vacation days, and one paid vitality day per year, with extra vacation days granted as you get older;
