Bioinformatics Scientist - Data Analysis

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatics Scientist to focus on Data Analysis within their cutting-edge research organization. This fully remote position allows you to leverage your expertise in computational biology and data science to drive insights from large-scale biological datasets. You will work on diverse projects, including genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics, developing and applying computational methods to unravel complex biological questions.

• Develop, implement, and optimize bioinformatics pipelines for processing and analyzing large-scale omics data (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics).
• Perform sophisticated statistical analysis and data mining to identify biological patterns and significant findings.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists and clinicians to define research questions and interpret results.
• Design and build databases or knowledge bases to store and retrieve biological information.
• Create compelling visualizations to communicate complex data findings to diverse audiences.
• Contribute to the development of novel analytical approaches and computational tools.

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience in analyzing high-throughput biological data, with a strong focus on genomics and/or transcriptomics.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with bioinformatics libraries and tools.
• Solid understanding of statistical methods and machine learning algorithms applicable to biological data.
• Experience with shell scripting and working in a Linux/Unix environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
