About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Product Development Scientist to join their FMCG team. This is a remote position focused on the research, development, and launch of new food products. You will be instrumental in transforming consumer insights and market trends into successful, market-ready food items. The role involves extensive laboratory work, pilot plant trials, and cross-functional collaboration with marketing, R&D, and operations teams to bring new product concepts to life.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong scientific background in food science and a passion for creating delicious and commercially viable FMCG products.
- Conduct research and development activities to create new food products and reformulate existing ones.
- Develop product prototypes, conduct sensory evaluations, and perform shelf-life studies.
- Scale up product formulations from benchtop to pilot plant and commercial production.
- Collaborate closely with marketing teams to translate consumer needs and market trends into product concepts.
- Ensure all product development activities comply with food safety regulations and quality standards.
- Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, process descriptions, and trial reports.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in product development within the food FMCG industry.
- Proven track record of successfully launching new food products.
- Strong understanding of food chemistry, processing technologies, and sensory science.
- Experience with product development software and laboratory equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
