About the Role
Our client is actively recruiting a talented Research Scientist in Computational Biology to join their innovative, globally distributed research team. This remote position is critical for analyzing large-scale biological datasets, including genomics, proteomics, and transcriptomics, to uncover novel insights and drive therapeutic discovery. You will collaborate with experimental biologists and data scientists to develop and apply advanced computational methods, contributing to groundbreaking research from your home office.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in bioinformatics, statistics, and programming, with a passion for advancing biological understanding through data-driven approaches in a remote setting.
- Design and implement computational pipelines for the analysis of high-throughput biological data (e.g., next-generation sequencing, microarrays).
- Develop and apply statistical and machine learning models to identify patterns, biomarkers, and potential drug targets.
- Collaborate with experimental scientists to interpret results and design follow-up studies.
- Visualize complex biological data in clear and informative ways for presentations and publications.
- Contribute to the development of novel algorithms and software tools for biological data analysis.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in computational biology, bioinformatics, and relevant scientific fields.
- Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Proven experience in analyzing large-scale biological datasets and applying statistical or machine learning methods.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in bioinformatics, such as Python or R.
- Familiarity with bioinformatics databases, tools, and software packages.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
