About the Role
Our client is seeking a visionary Principal Research Scientist to lead their Genomics research initiatives within a fully remote, cutting-edge R&D environment. This senior role involves setting the scientific direction, designing and executing complex genomic research projects, and mentoring a team of scientists. You will be instrumental in uncovering new biological insights through advanced sequencing technologies and data analysis, driving innovation in areas such as personalized medicine and disease research.
The position demands a strong scientific track record, leadership capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a fully remote, collaborative setting.
- Define and lead strategic research programs in genomics, utilizing state-of-the-art sequencing and analysis platforms.
- Design and oversee complex experimental protocols for genomic studies, including whole-genome, exome, and RNA-seq.
- Develop and implement advanced bioinformatics pipelines for data processing, quality control, and variant analysis.
- Interpret large-scale genomic data to identify disease mechanisms, biomarkers, and therapeutic targets.
- Mentor and guide junior scientists and researchers, fostering a culture of scientific excellence.
- Disseminate research findings through publications in high-impact journals and presentations at international conferences.
- Ph.D. in Genetics, Genomics, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive research experience in genomics, with a significant publication record.
- Extensive experience with various next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies and platforms.
- Expertise in bioinformatics, statistical genetics, and computational analysis of genomic data.
- Proven ability to lead research projects and manage scientific teams.
- Strong understanding of human genetics and disease mechanisms.
