Principal Scientist - Genomics

Our client is seeking an accomplished Principal Scientist with extensive expertise in Genomics to lead key research initiatives within their fully remote organization. This senior position requires a visionary leader who can drive strategic research direction, mentor a team of scientists, and push the boundaries of genomic discovery. You will be responsible for developing innovative approaches to analyzing complex genomic data, identifying novel biomarkers, and contributing to the development of next-generation diagnostics and therapeutics.

• Lead the design and execution of large-scale genomic research projects, including whole-genome sequencing, exome sequencing, and RNA-seq analysis.
• Develop and validate novel genomic analysis pipelines and computational tools.
• Interpret complex genomic datasets to identify disease-associated genetic variants and biomarkers.
• Collaborate with clinical teams and external partners to translate genomic findings into clinical applications.
• Mentor and manage a team of junior scientists, fostering a culture of scientific rigor and innovation.
• Stay at the forefront of genomic technologies and methodologies, evaluating and implementing new approaches.

• Ph.D. in Genomics, Genetics, Bioinformatics, or a related field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant research experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing research projects and teams.
• Expertise in human genetics, population genomics, and statistical genetics.
• Proficiency in genomic data analysis software, programming languages (Python, R), and database management.
• Experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies and platforms.
