Remote Computational Biologist - Drug Discovery

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Remote Computational Biologist to enhance their drug discovery efforts. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to leverage advanced computational and statistical methods to analyze complex biological data, including genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics. You will work closely with experimental biologists and chemists to identify novel therapeutic targets, design drug candidates, and interpret experimental results. This is an ideal role for a highly analytical and self-motivated scientist who excels in a virtual setting and is passionate about applying computational approaches to solve critical challenges in medicine.

• Develop and apply computational methods to analyze large-scale biological datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, etc.) to identify drug targets and biomarkers.
• Build predictive models to understand disease mechanisms, drug response, and patient stratification.
• Collaborate with experimental teams to design studies, interpret results, and guide hypothesis generation and validation.
• Develop and maintain robust data analysis pipelines and software tools for biological research.
• Contribute to the integration of diverse data types to gain a holistic understanding of biological systems.
• Present computational findings and their biological implications to diverse audiences, effectively communicating complex results remotely.

• Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience in analyzing high-throughput biological data, with a strong focus on drug discovery or related areas.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and expertise in relevant bioinformatics libraries and statistical packages.
• Experience with machine learning algorithms and their application to biological problems.
• Familiarity with biological databases and relevant data formats.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a remote, collaborative team environment.
