Biomedical Researcher - Genomics

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Biomedical Researcher with a specialization in Genomics to join their innovative research team in Mossel Bay . This role focuses on leveraging cutting-edge genomic technologies to unravel the complexities of human disease and identify novel therapeutic targets. • Design and conduct experiments involving next-generation sequencing (NGS) and other genomic technologies.
• Analyze and interpret large-scale genomic datasets, identifying genetic variations and their associations with disease phenotypes.
• Develop and optimize bioinformatics pipelines for genomic data analysis.
• Collaborate with clinicians and other researchers to integrate genomic findings into broader research projects.
• Prepare data for publication, present research findings at scientific conferences, and contribute to grant writing.
• Maintain accurate records of experiments and data analysis.

• PhD in Genetics, Genomics, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in genomic research and analysis, including hands-on experience with NGS technologies.
• Proficiency in bioinformatics tools and programming languages (e.g., R, Python, Bash) for data analysis.
• Strong understanding of population genetics, statistical genetics, and bioinformatics principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
